Mechanical Mod vs Regulated Mod
Hello fellow long time Vapers! My vaping needs have come to a point that required something more, something fierce! Mechanical Mod.
I had at the time been using a Spartan with an ECU 23 Watt. Its performance was spectacular. In fact because of this set up, I would not have been able to fully quit cigarettes. Months passed, I started getting drawn into the “cloud chasing” world and impressed by the vapor they produced. I would watch Vapers in all their gloriousness take three second inhales and exhale massive amounts of fluffy vape clouds…. And I wanted what they had!
I began my research by talking to my fellow vape friends to see what they were using. Achieving my goal basically came down to having a MOD paired with a tank that has low ohms. MODs can either be Mechanical or Regulated and your tank/atomizer can come with premade coils or with self-built coils.
Mechanical Mods
WELL WHAT THE HECK IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MECHANICAL AND REGULATED??!!
It was off to the computer for me so I could google my way into knowledge. I actually ran into some great websites that informed me of what I need to know. Here is the low down. Mechanical mods are tubes that don’t have any sort of circuitry inside. Just put a battery inside and there is an area for you to screw your top on. The magic is all in the battery and it’s what does all the work. Pretty much your battery and the ohm build on your atomizer is how you get this massive amount of vapor.
However it’s extremely dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing. There is no circuitry involved in this MOD that means there is no safety regulation or features on it. Using a mechanical MOD requires certain knowledge on how to properly and safely operate it. Including, using a properly charged battery, airflow to prevent overheating and a lock to avoid accidentally pressing the firing button. Battery amperage based on your ohm builds is perhaps the most important safety feature.
Reading about the dangers of Mechanical MODs incorrectly, I found myself thinking, “Why would anyone use this type of device?!” Which led me to my next google search.
Mechanical Mod Benefits
Since mechanical mod are basically just tubing with no wiring or electricity, they are extremely durable. I read someone’s experience with using it. They discussed dropping in water and after drying it/buying a new battery they were able to use it. So, clearly it’s also a lot cheaper to replace just a lithium ion battery then an entire unit.
When you know what you’re actually doing and have mastered Mechanical MOD vaping it gives CLOUDS of amazing vapor! You are able to hold the firing button for as long as you want without the MOD shutting down. Which is an upside to no safety regulations.
Regulated Mods
However, I knew that this was just not the best path for me. So I took a peak at Regulated MODS. Based off of definition, technically I already owned one! My ECU 23 Watt! However we are fishing for a killer whale here and not a Salmon. To lay it out, a Regulated MOD contains a circuit board and will have some type of protection features and variable voltage/variable wattage adjustment features.
These are totally awesome for a lot of different reasons. An LED Display alerts you to faulty coils and battery life. It also shows wattage/voltage and sometimes temperature control settings. Pass through charging functions are generally included in most MODS. This means that you are able to charge and use your mod at the same time.
All in all Regulated MODS have your back and they are much easier to use. So obviously I went to my favorite electronic cigarette shop “E Cigarette USA” in Hollywood, Florida and got myself hooked up. I emerged with an ECU 60watt in blue, a White ego one atomizer, and a backup cool fire in blue. With my .4 ohm and a setting of 55 watts I am in hog heaven!! It’s just the perfect amount of big vaper without a ton of hassle.
