K101 Mod Kit
I have been a vaping convert for years now and it seems like I’ve tried every clearomizer and battery available. New products come out all the time. Therefore, everyday there is a new product that catches my eye. The Kamry K101 Mod Kit is one of these new products on the market.
Advertisements and websites will proclaim all kinds of things such as the product being “the next big thing” or “this is the last e cig kit you will ever need to buy”. They never explain what the product is or how to use it
I came across the K101 Mod Kit from Kamry. Honestly, I was not sure I knew what a MOD really was. I have a feeling that you don’t either. There are two different kinds.
A Regulated MOD is the name for a battery that has modifications. These work with the lithium ion batteries (built into your battery unit) to give you the desired function. A MOD, is generally a fully mechanical battery CASING that has no circuitry or wires. It is sturdy and literally a little piece of machinery. It also utilizes lithium ion batteries although in a different way. Since these batteries are removable, you have the ability to change the battery’s MAH depending on the battery you use.
I’d love to share with you the wonders of my K101 Mod Kit.

The K101 MOD is also known as a telescopic MOD. This means that it can be extended or shortened to accommodate the batteries you use. The whole thing can be unscrewed and completely disassembled. This allows you to replace parts and maintain your MOD. The Kit itself comes with everything you need. It also comes with instructions on how it is used.
The first thing I noticed when I unzipped the case and began to spread out all the components on the table was how different from my usual eGo batteries the K101 battery case looked. It looked substantial and sturdy, had shiny metal accents and was on the heavy side. The other big difference of course was the fact that it was just a battery case and I had to charge up a separate battery before I could install it and use the MOD.
Setting Up Your K101 Mod Kit
While I waited for the battery to charge, I played around a bit with the battery case itself. I also filled up the Cartomizer by removing the rubber stopper at the top and dripping 10-12 drops of e-liquid into it before replacing the rubber stopper so I’d be ready to go when the light on the charger turned green.
I chose Mango e-liquid from Logic Smoke because this has quickly become a favorite of mine and since I already think it is a wonderfully bold flavor, I wanted to see if there would be any differences in the flavor.
When the light turned green, I installed the battery. Then I took my first hit from my K101 MOD. I was surprised by the amount of vapor I exhaled. In addition to, how wonderful the Mango e-liquid tasted. I continued to vape off and on for about an hour and the satisfaction I received was parallel to that of my favorite every day eGo vaping components I normally use.
How to Use:
To use the K101 MOD, Unscrew the bottom of the MOD battery case above the ON/OFF switch. Insert the battery (size of your choice) (+ ) side up. Place the Kick Chip on the ( – ) end of the battery, magnet facing the battery. Replace the bottom of the MOD battery case. Twist the colored part of the MOD until it feels snug (but not tight). Screw on the atomizer and atomizer cover that came in your MOD Kit (or the clearomizer of your choice) filled with e-liquid.
Make sure you have turned the ON/OFF locking ring all the way to the left. This is the safety unlock feature and you will not be able to use the mod until you do this. Then press the button on the bottom of the MOD, holding it in while inhaling. When you’re finished, turn the ON/OFF locking ring to the right to lock it. This ensures the MOD will not fire up by itself if the button is accidentally pressed.
The K101 Mod Kit comes complete with everything you need. Along with the telescopic mod battery case; the K101 Mod Kit also provides you with a cartomizer to put your e-liquid in, the cartomizer cover, a battery charger, two lithium ion dry-cell batteries in two different sizes/voltages and a hard sided case to store all your components in.
The battery charger is a standard two bay dry-cell charger. The smart feature turns off the battery when fully charged. This ensures no damage to your batteries by over changing. This is a great feature for me since, though I know much better, I forget and leave my batteries charging longer than they should.
Specifications:
The batteries this kit comes with are two different sizes, 18350 (shorter) and the 18650 (longer). This is a great feature for several reasons. The telescopic feature of the MOD allows you to change your battery size. Simply by unscrewing or tightening the battery casing to accommodate the larger or smaller battery. This lets you customize both the size of your MOD all together, and also the voltage you’re using.
This kit comes with a Kick Chip. This is a protection feature that you place in the battery case along with your battery to ensure there is no short circuiting and/or overheating and has an over-current protection. To avoid damage to the MOD or injury to yourself, you should always use the over-current protection.
The Case
Honestly the case that comes with this kit is my favorite part. Along with being forgetful, I also am prone to losing things. This hard sided case will protect your mod and its components. It is a thing of beauty. It has two deep mesh pockets that will hold your mod, charger and batteries. I also fit two 10ml bottle of e-liquid in mine.
Conclusion
Though I am still partial to my Protank III/Kamry X6 Variable Voltage combo because the K101 MOD is a bit bulky and heavy for me to be carrying around in my purse, and will still be using that as my every day vape, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience using a MOD and have integrated it into my routine.
Keep in mind that the K101 MOD is not really for a beginner. I recommend making sure you are familiar with standard vaping systems before trying out this great MOD Kit.
